And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
Revelation 18:4-5
Greetings Brethren,
Thank to those donors who continue to assist our orphans and widows in their afflictions. Your good work continues to glorify our Heavenly Father. We thank you for not “hardening your heart, nor shutting your hand from our poor brethren.” (Deuteronomy 15:7) (Matthew 5:16).
Our Lord says He will “Bless those who considereth the poor” and that He will “deliver” (escape – rescue) them in time of trouble. (Psalm 41:1) Brethren, if there was ever a time to hope for deliverance from the trouble that is coming, it is now. This world is on the brink of the worst trouble ever, as our Lord tells us in (Matthew 24:21). Let us thank our Creator for His mercy, compassion and love. Let us strive to come completely out of this world, and to walk this earth in all of His ways,
Getionko Congregation Children.
out of 20 children in the Getionko congregation, nine are orphans, but they all often go 2 to 3 days without eating. Thanks to our donors “none” have died in this congregation in over a year now. Two died of starvation in 2023, one in 2022, and one in 2021.
The Getionko congregation is overseen by Douglas (pictured below) Douglas is one of our orphans. We first took him in 11 years ago after his parents (who attended the Masaba congregation) died. He was living alone in a small mud hut, where he was vulnerable to wild animal attacks. We (khofh) (thanks to you donors) took him in, got him a bed, mattress etc. and put him in school. He grew up fast, but never forgot about the help he received from all of you, and he too (just like you) developed a compassionate heart and willingness (actually eagerness) to help others, especially orphans and widows.
There has been numerous time (just like about a week ago) where the widows and some of the orphans were so weak from not eating, that when the help did arrive, they couldn’t even get out of bed to cook. So Douglas visited them and nursed them back to strength. Douglas’s love, his treasure, his focus is on things above. He yearns for the City whose foundation, whose builder and maker is God. Brethren that City, the coming Kingdom of God, is now on the horizon, do you see it coming? Let us not be entangled with the affairs of this present evil age. But instead let us be good soldiers of our Lord and Savior, with our focus on things above. (2 Timothy 2:3-4). Currently our focus needs to be on the brethren of ours who are literally starving to death.

Brethren the work we are involved in is a good work. We not only strive to help our orphans and widows with their physical afflictions and physical needs, but also their Spiritual needs. We share with all of them the “Youth Bible Lessons” and “Bible Correspondence Course” originally produced by the wwcog. The children and the adults love these lessons.

Itongo Orphans.
The widow Chebet Kemunto cares for these orphans. They attend the Itongo Congregation. There were eleven of them, but we lost two to starvation in 2023, and we lost one (Clinton age eight) to starvation just last week. (Clinton has not been buried yet due to lack of funds.) The situation continues to be dire. Even now we are struggling to help them with the ingredients to make nutritional porridge which will help to keep them alive. Remember we are caring for 48 impoverished church orphans and a dozen impoverished church widows. Brethren, with the Multiple Millions of Dollars coming into the churches of God these days, NO ONE (especially no widow or orphan) in God’s church should be dying from starvation. If we could only make others aware of the suffering, others would help.
The Bett Boys: Dennis, Tito and Dominic.
Benjamin Bett, his wife Brenda and their three children live in The Great Rift Valley. That valley extends over 4,000 miles, from Mozambique all the way to the Promised Land. Benjamin oversees a number of congregations in that area, including Narok county and Bomet county. The Bett’s have been growing a garden, but it will not be ready to harvest for a number of Months. Thanks to you donors, we were able to buy them a sack of Maize. The boys look quite healthy, but if you grab hold of their shoulders, you will find that they are skin and bone. This family also sleeps hungry from time to time.

Concerning finances, please understand that we are accomplishing much with the ones who regularly donate. We have 216 addresses on our Email list. (Everyone who ever donated to khofh over the year’s far back as 2007 is on the list.) But only a small percentage of them donate regularly. That’s why I’m always trying to reach out to others in God’s church to join hands with us in helping our suffering brethren. That’s why when funds come in, they go right back out because the need is great, but the donors are few. The majority of the brethren (by far) in the COG are not aware of the suffering of our impoverished brethren. If they only knew, some would help.
I received the following from Nehemiah this morning:
“Shalom,
We here are in dire situation. Some of the widows and orphans can’t wake up or even communicate well since they are very weak. Kindly I really pray on their behalf we pray for them so that they can get some nutritional to prevent them from dying. I also urge to continue praying for the widow at the border by the name Chebet for the loss of one orphan due to starvation. His name is Clinton, and not buried yet, but still in mortuary due to lack of funds.
I have been receiving calls from others here who are also crying so bad especially many of them are trying to survive with only boiling water.
Yours Nehemiah Sibwoga.”
Brethren, the afflictions of these orphans and widows are many; we need to help them, its crucial. And not only crucial for them, but crucial for us too. (James 1:27).
Only sheep (only those with love and compassion for their fellowman) will enter into the Kingdom of God. If you have the means, if you have the funds to help them, Please Help. The situation here is dire. (1 John 3:17). (Matthew 25:31-46).
Please continue to pray for others to join hands with us. Yes, please spread the word that we have brethren, true members of the “Household of Faith” who are suffering (literally dying of starvation) and crying out for our help. (Luke 10:2) (Galatians 6:9-10).
Currently schools are closed for midterm break, but will reopen on Monday August 26th. At that time the tuition for the 3rd and final term will be due, and will total $3,350. Approximately half of the orphans are in school. Others like Thomas, Kevin, and Douglas’ children and orphans are home learning to sew. But it’s hard to do anything with empty bellies. We also have the Feast of Tabernacles approaching, and our hope is to help the brethren with food and with transportation to the Feast sites for the widows and orphans. And most importantly, if the orphans and widows don’t get additional help soon, there will be more of them to bury.
Your brother in Christ.
