Greetings Brethren,

We thank you once again for quickly responding to our orphan and widow’s plea for help. Once again, all of them survived this last bout of starvation. As the donations came in, Mary (and orphans Violet and Mercy from the Getionko Congregation) quickly cooked porridge. Then Dauglas had to go around and feed the orphans in their beds just like last time, because they were too weak to get up.

Thank God, and thanks to your quick response to the plea for help, it didn’t take long for the children to start getting some of their strength back. The following day some walked down to the water hole to fetch water. We thank our Creator for all of you wonderful Brethren who possess that Agape Love of our Heavenly Father.

I received the following letter from Dauglas:

Shalom Pastor Bill and Our Precious Donors,

I greet you with peace and a very grateful heart.

I am writing this message on behalf of the orphans and widows to sincerely thank you for your love, compassion, and faithful support. I wish you could see what your kindness has done in their lives.

There were days when many of them, especially here in the Getionko group, had nothing to eat. Some had gone for several days without food. I saw with my own eyes how weak they had become. Some were lying sick in their beds, without strength even to rise. It was a painful and heartbreaking situation.

When your support arrived, it was not just food it was hope. I saw strength slowly return to weak bodies. I saw relief in their faces. I saw gratitude in their eyes. Your generosity reminded them that they are not forgotten and that God still cares for them.

I truly appreciate you for your good and compassionate hearts. You have chosen to stand with the most vulnerable, and your kindness has made a real difference. Because of you, lives have been touched, and faith has been strengthened.

I continue to pray to our Heavenly Father to bless you abundantly, to protect your families, and to reward you for every sacrifice you have made. I believe with all my heart that our God will not leave you alone. As you have remembered the orphans and widows, may He also remember you in your time of need.

Thank you, Pastor Bill. Thank you, dear donors. Your love and generosity will never be forgotten.

With deep gratitude and prayers,

Dauglas Henry”

As you can see, your help has produced much fruit. Yes, your good works continue to glorify our Heavenly Father.

We were also able to purchase more blankets. Some of the orphans were still sleeping without. But thanks to you donors, they all have blankets now.

Sleeping With Blankets.

This one room house is owned by one of the Getionko members. He has opened it, and some of the orphans sleep here. We do hope to get them mattresses, as soon as funds become available. As always, we have to use the funds according to priority. It always boils down to who is hurting the most. Remember, this is only the Getionko congregation. We still have Sengera House, and a number of orphans living in the bush with an elderly grandparent that we are also assisting, and they are still suffering.

Pictured below is how some of the Getionko orphans were sleeping before the latest purchase of blankets.

It’s so wonderful when sufficient funds come in, and we are able to provide these young orphans and elderly widows with the essentials that they need. But between the cry’s for additional help, funds continue to be low. And there is no extravagant living amongst them. Their diet is often porridge, which satisfies them when available, but these precious orphans still sleep hungry all too often. The problem is that there are so many of our brethren in need of  help, but very few like you who are willing to care for them. Especially now, during these end times when iniquity abounds and the love of many has waxed cold.  (Matthew 24:12).

So please don’t get weary in well doing. As Scripture says, in due season you shall reap for doing good, especially for doing good unto those of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:9-10). And these brethren of ours that you are helping are “rich” in faith. They are the poor of this world, and heirs of the Kingdom. (James 2:5).

As funds come in, they go right back out. And none of your donations have been in vain. Our prayer constantly is for us to be better stewards, and to use the funds properly, and according to God’s will. And we are doing our best trying to teach these orphans how to fish for themselves. Remember both Wako (Brian) and Timothy (orphans from Sengera House) have learned how to make furniture. Ibu (another Brian) has learned how to weld. We also taught Ian how to drive, and helped him acquire his driver’s license. He has been driving for a taxi cab company.  James is in his first year of Nursing school, and Manley is in training to become a pilot.

Manley is now in Simulator Training.

Manley has a year and a half to go before he graduates flight school and begins working for Kenya Airlines. And no worries concerning keeping the Sabbath. The predominate religion in Kenya is Christianity, approximately 85% of the total population.  About half are Sabbath Keepers, so “Hakuna Matata” or “No Worries” concerning Sabbath observation. It will not be a problem for Manley, as a pilot, to take off from work on Sabbath.  Even here in the States we have brethren who are airline pilots.

James and Nehemiah.

James (on the left) is soon to finish his first year of Nursing School. He is full of faith. From the time he was young, his dream was to become a Nurse, and to help people. Well, His wish is coming true, and he continues to do quite well in school.

Nehemiah is also full of faith, and continues to dedicate his entire life to serving the brethren. He (like Dauglas) is often under the threat of being arrested. Why, because we live in a world where “Good” is oftentimes considered “Bad” and vice versa. And, as the Apostle Paul tells us in (2 Timothy 3:12) All who live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” Please continue to pray for Nehemiah and Dauglas, they both live a very difficult life, serving the brethren, and doing it in quite a hostile country.

All of our Kenya Brethren live difficult lives. And all of them care for orphans. Pictured below is the sitting room in John Magara’s mud house. As you can see, it’s quite small, and modest to say the least.

John Magata’s Sitting Room.

John, is the local Elder. He lives with his wife Hyline, their three children, and five orphans. They attend the Sengera Congregation. Thanks to you donors, we were able to help the family with fire wood. After the sever beating John took recently from the police, (as reported in previous updates) he has been unable to fetch the wood himself, so it was a big help to the family.

KJV .

We also continue to purchase and provide Bibles for our impoverished Brethren. We prefer KJV. Because knowing the KJ Version makes studying easier, especially when using a Strong’s Concordance. When KJV are not available, we buy NKJ. We also continue to distribute some of the old WWC literature.

Let me end for now, and try to get this update posted. Please continue to pray for us, as we continue to pray for all of you. And please continue to help our poor brethren if you can, the need is still great, and our funds are now depleted. All of your donations reach the target, and impact their lives significantly.

Thank You.
