I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come (has come) when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:1-4).
Greetings Brethren,
I hope all of you are not only well, but also growing, yes growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, as we are instructed to do in (2 Peter 3:18).
We are told in (Ephesians 4:11-13) that He gave numerous positions in His church, including some as pastors and teachers for our perfecting, and for the edifying of the body of Christ (the church) “until we all come to the unity of the faith unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” Now that’s quite a tall order to say the least. But do you realize that that unity, that being at “one accord” with one another, and most importantly, being at “one accord” together with our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior, is soon to come to fruition in God’s church? Brethren, we are not living at the time when our Lord began to build His church, we are living at the time when He will complete it. And He’s going to present to Himself a glorious church without spot or wrinkle. (Ephesians 5:27).

Ten of our Sengera House Children.
Midterm break has now started. The schools are closed for one week. The Sengera House orphans are doing quite well thanks to you donors. I’m waiting for pictures of our remote orphans who live in the bush with an elderly Grandparent, who are also off from school now.

Dauglas Purchased Bibles for the Getionko Congregation.
Thanks to you donors, we were able to purchase more Bibles. How can one prove all things, rightly divide the Word, and hold fast to that which is good, without a Bible? Your brethren appreciate you donors very much for the additional Bibles.

Jemimah Cooking on The New Stove.
I received the following letter from Jemimah. She has completed High School with very good grades, and now hopes to further her education.
“Dear Donors and papa
How are you? Am Jemimah Mochama one of the orphans under the care and guidance of papa Bill Goff. I am 18 years old.
I am writing to you with deep gratitude and appreciation in my heart. I am pleased to share the good news that I have successfully completed my high school education and performed exceptionally well in my final national exams.
As I look ahead toward joining university, I am filled with both excitement and a sense of purpose. However, I am also aware of the financial challenges that come with this next stage of education. With great humility, I would like to kindly request for your support as I prepare to transition into university life.
Am grateful for everything. I believe in the power of kindness, compassion, and opportunity values Kenya Hands of Hope has shown me throughout my school years. It is because of this support that I was able to concentrate on my studies, remain focused, and achieve the results I did.
I sincerely want to thank you and the entire Kenya Hands of Hope team for standing with me through grammar school up to this point. Your unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in my potential have made a profound difference in my life. You gave me a reason to keep going, and for that I will forever be grateful.
It is my dream to continue my education so that I can make something meaningful out of my life and also be in a position to give back to my community one day, just as I have been supported. I am determined to work hard, remain disciplined, and carry forward the values I have learned from this incredible journey.
Thank you once again for everything you have done for me. Your help has truly been a beacon of hope, and I pray that God continues to bless you abundantly as you continue to touch lives.
With deep appreciation and warm regards,
Jemimah Mochama.”

John Magara, his Wife Hyline, their three children, and four of the five orphans they care for.
All attend the Sengera congregation. On Sabbath, John normally gives the first message directed to the children, who usually arrive around 9am. The rest of the congregation arrive by around 10am. Then services continues with a number of teachings, announcements, and plenty of songs. The children sing their songs with plenty of choreography as they perform the Bible stories which they know so well.
John spent the past Month going through a very difficult time, hiding from the police. They were looking to arrest him because he didn’t pay school fees for not only his three children, but also for the five orphans he cares for. In Kenya, when you help someone, you can get in a whole lot of trouble, even arrested. Most of our Kenyan brethren care for orphans, but they often get in trouble for doing so. The authorities show no compassion. You might remember the last Update reported on John, with his broken back from the beating he took. One church sister here in the State has been sending a little funds to help him from time to time. But John and his family continue to suffer a lot. We have so many orphans in the church there in Kenya, and the need is great. So please continue to pray for “The Lord of the harvest to send forth more laborers into Hid harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38). As funds come in, they go right back out. And they are significantly impacting, and easing our brethren’s suffering. So please don’t get weary in well doing. (Galatians 6:9-10).

Widow Agnes, the two orphans Bivon and Thomas that she cares for, and Lebranic and Kevin are Bernard’s children. All members of the Sengera Congregation. The sack is Maize.

Widow Agnus and orphan Bivon preparing food.

School is out, time to collect fire wood.

Neighbor Children Collecting Fire Wood for Cooking.
James sent me a few pictures showing daily routine around the neighborhood. Most of our brethren are peasant farmers, and they are hard workers.

Walking to Fetch Water.

Each waiting to fill their containers.

Can you imagine having to fetch and carry back to your house from the river every drop of water that you will use during the day for cooking, drinking, bathing, washing clothes etc. And having to boil it before drinking to avoid contracting Typhoid or Cholera?

This Girls container is over 20 liters.
In Kenya you will find both Boys and Girls physically strong, from all their hard physical work. Some walk up to a mile (each way) just for their water. Then carry it back in 20 liters containers (just over 5 gallons) which weigh around 42 lbs. Yes, they are all physically strong. And they are also Spiritually strong. You can see their caliber in their writings. We are doing our best trying to teach them 24/7 about things like the straight gate and the narrow way, which if followed, leads to eternal life in the Kingdom of God. (Quite an important lesson for all of us, yes?)

Benard’s Church Garden.
All three one acre gardens are doing well. You donors have helped our impoverished brethren so much. May our Heavenly Father bless each and everyone of you abundantly. Recently donations are up, and none have been sleeping hungry. We thank God for all of you donors.
Now as we approach the return of our Lord, and our gathering together unto Him, spoken of as the “day of Christ” In (2 Thessalonians 2:1-2) we need to exercise much caution. We need to be sure we are walking in “Truth” and not following any false doctrines. Paul warns us that his teachings would come under attack as men desert the truth for ear-itching words, and begin following fables. (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
Brethren, this is the Laodicean age, when many are lukewarm (a condition that our Lord Hates.) thinking we are rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing. Not realizing that our Lord finds some, wretched, and miserable, and poor, and bling, and naked.
If there was ever a time for the “church” to anoint our eyes with that Laodicean Eyesalve, it is now. Too many in the “church” today are Complacent. (Revelation 3:17-18).
Even AI (Artificial Intelligence) has detected this problem. This is how AI describes (2 Timothy 4:1-4) (And I think it hits the nail right on the head.)
AI says: “The phrase in (2 Timothy 4:3) “after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears” comes from and describes a time when brethren will reject sound doctrine and seek out teachers who tell them what they want to hear. This passage highlights a tendency to prioritize personal desires and preferences over truth and genuine spiritual guidance.
(Here’s a more detailed explanation, as AI elaborates on Paul’s words.)
- “After their own lusts”:
This refers to people following their own desires and passions, rather than seeking objective truth or sound teaching.
- “Heap to themselves teachers”:
This means they will actively seek out and accumulate teachers who will affirm their existing beliefs and preferences.
- “Having itching ears”:
This vivid imagery describes a desire for novelty and flattery, a craving for teachings that are pleasing and comfortable, even if they are not true or biblically sound. (Scripture calls them fables.)
Essentially, the passage warns against a self-centered approach to faith where people choose teachers and teachings that align with their own desires, rather than seeking out those that accurately reflect God’s word. This can lead to a rejection of sound doctrine in favor of fables and myths that cater to their personal preferences according to (2 Timothy 4:4).
Brethren, have any of us been affected by some of these fables?
We need to read Peter’s diagnoses concerning the condition of many in the “church” today.
1st Peter deals with problems from the outside. But 2nd Peter deals with problem from the inside. And Peter knew that deception was coming, and what the church would be like in these end times in which we are living.
Now Peter wrote this a long time ago in the “future” tense. But the future has arrived Brethren. So, to drive Peter’s sobering words home, let us read this passage in the proper “present” tense.
(2 Peter 2:1-2). But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there are false teachers among you, who privily have brought in damnable heresies (“damnable” Strong’s # G684 ruin or loss, destructive die perish.) even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
(Brethren these are not my words, these are Peter’s words.)
(2 Peter 2:2) “And many (not the few but many) shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth is evil spoken of.” Brethren, we need to be studying, and we need to be proving, and rightly dividing the Word of Truth.
Now some have been studying and proving, and are growing in grace and in knowledge. But when they voice their findings, they are shunned and labeled heretics.
Many of our brethren are scared of heresy, they’ve been taught to avoid it with a ten-foot pole. But heresy is not necessarily a bad thing. Paul was accused of preaching heresy, and he was proud of it. (Acts 24:14).
“But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things (that I heard from Mr. so-and-so?) No! believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets.”
We also, need to believe all things that are written, all things written in the Scriptures.
Even if it’s at variance to what’s normally believed or taught. God’s Holy Word needs to be Paramount, God’s Word is Supreme.
Heresy is a teaching or belief that is contrary to what is normally believed or taught, but not necessarily false doctrine.
Heresy is defined as: “opinion or doctrine at variance with the orthodox or accepted doctrine, especially of a church or religious system.”
We need not to fear heresy. It’s “Damnable” Heresy that we have to be careful of.
And Scripture clearly tells us that that there are some “damnable” heresies in the church of God today, that are being taught and believed as Truth. (2 Peter 2:1) (1 Corinthians 11:19).
Brethren, before the Berean’s searched the Scriptures to see if what Paul was preaching was correct, they first listened to what he had to say “with all readiness of mind”. (Acts 17:11). We too need to listen first when someone raises up a red flag concerning doctrine. Then search the Scriptures to see if it is so. We need to be walking in “Truth” Brethren.
(There is an article concerning “Truth” titled: “Parable of the Ten Virgins”. The link is at the bottom of this update.)
Brethren, we have no time for complacency, and we have no time for fables. The church is “The Pillar and Ground of the Truth”.
Truth is of upmost importance to us; Truth is what defines “The Church of The Living God.” (1 Timothy 3:15)
Truth is also what makes one in the church of God Holy.
(John 17:17) “Sanctify Them (Strong’s # G37 – Make Holy) Make them Holy Through thy truth: thy word is Truth”.
And if you want Truth, you have to buy it. You buy it with your time in studying, proving, testing. The oil of (Matthew 25:4) that the Wise virgins are filling up on does not represent God’s Spirit (You cannot buy God’s Spirit, it is a free gift.) (Simon Magus proved that.) The precious oil that the wise virgins are filling up on is “Truth”. The oil in that parable represents Truth. (Proverbs 23:23) (Psalm 119:105) (Acts 8:20).
And if you want to be sure if something is Truth, you need to look for “evidence”. You cannot rely on hearsay, or some man’s teachings, no matter how scholarly or eloquent the man is. Men who follow men will end up together in the same place, the ditch. (Matthew 15:14) (Luke 6:39).
Proving all things is an individual responsibility. And Scriptural Proof Demands “Evidence”.
(2 Timothy 3:16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God (God Breathe) and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect (Strong’s # G739 complete) thoroughly furnished unto all good works. And that word reproof is Strong’s #G1650 meaning – evidence. We should have Scriptural evidence for all of our beliefs.
Too often we hear someone say: “Mr. so and so said this, and Mr. so and so said that.” What we should be hearing is: “Scripture such and such says this, and Scripture such and such says that.”
Brethren, trouble is in the forecast, not only for the church, but for the whole world (Matthew 24:21). The signs are here; the end of this evil age is upon us. All that is needed now is for the “Bride” to have made herself ready. (Revelation 19:7). We are approaching that time, the time when His little flock will be meeting Him in the air, up in the clouds, and standing before Him on the “Sea of Glass.” But not everyone will be there. Let’s go up to that Sea of Glass for a minute and see exactly who “will” be there, and what they “all” have in common. Yes, everyone who will be up there on that Sea of Glass, standing before our Creator, all have something very much in common. (Revelation 15:2)
“And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.”
Those six words “them that had gotten the victory” come from only one Greek word, Strong’s # G3528 conquer – overcome – victor. Only those who have overcome will be there.
It’s the same exact word our Lord used when addressing all seven churches in Revelation 2 & 3. “To him that “overcometh” will I grant this and give that.
Brethren, if we have His Spirit dwelling in us, then we have the Power that it takes to overcome. Let us use that Power, let us study His Word and prove all things. And let us be led by His Spirit. (Only His Spirit can lead us into all Truth, no man can accomplish that, men are better known for leading many astray.) (Matthew 24:4-5) (Jude 1:4) (2 Peter 2:1).
Only His Spirit can “guide” us into all Truth. John16:13) “Howbeit when it, the Spirit of truth, is come, it (the spirit of Truth, not men) will guide you into all truth: for it shall not speak of itself; but whatsoever it shall hear, that shall it speak: and it will shew you things to come.”
And in (John 16:14) the NIV reads like this: “It will glorify me (our Lord) because it is from me that It will receive what It will make known to you.“
So our Lord continues to speak (instruct) His sheep today, through the Spirit. And its quite a secure “network” (for lack of a better word) Because only His sheep can hear His voice.
You know all of our Lord’s original disciples were “Galilean’s” (bar one Judas, he was “Judean”. (Acts 1:10-11). There is much significance to “Galilean.” It has to do with a “circuit” all connected together, like an inner circle. (let us keep in mind here and remember that the physical always helps us to better understand the Spiritual). In a “circuit” all components have to be connected to have a “complete” circuit. And all one needs to be connected in His circuit, (especially those of us who have been baptized, and have His Spirit dwelling in us.) Is to walk in all of His ways. That takes a complete change of our nature, of course. But that is exactly what His Spirit is doing in the true members of His church, changing them from old sinful natures, into His Holy Righteous Character. Those who have this hope in them, purify themself. How Pure? As Pure as He us Pure. (1 John 3:3). One purifies them self with His Spirit. His Spirit is the only thing Powerful enough to change our sinful natures, into His Holy Righteous Character. The process is described from start to finish in (Matthew 13:33).
(Leaven doesn’t always represent “sin” in the Scriptures. There is also a “Good” Leaven, which is His Spirit.)
“Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven (God’s Spirit.), which a woman (the church) took (same Greek ford used by Peter when he told the crowd “Repent, be baptized, and you shall “receive” (same Greek Word) the gift of His Holy Spirit.) and hid (incorporate) in three measures of meal, till the whole (all of God’s little flock, His Church, His First Fruits) was leavened.”
The “Spirit of Truth” will guide us into all Truth, and it will also show us things that are coming. Good feature to have considering the rough road ahead. The rough road that will soon unite both of His flocks. (John 10:16). But that subject is for another day.
For now let me say thank you to you donors, for continuing to answer our impoverished Brethren’s cry. (Especially the orphans and widows.)The work we are involved in is a good work, And good works glorify our Heavenly Father. And please, please continue to pray for us to become better stewards, and to become humble servants of our Lord and Master.
Thank You.
Bill Goff
