Greetings Brethren,
We hope all of you are well, both physically and more importantly spiritually as we approach the Feast of Pentecost 2025, and patiently wait for the return of our Lord and Savior. Let us keep our impoverished poor brethren in mind, and let us pray “Thy Kingdom Come” because many of our brethren living in these 3rd world countries around this world are suffering.
I (James 1:27) we are told that “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
We want to thank you donors for the wonderful help you continue to give to our Kenyan orphans and widows. As I often say, your assistance continues to ease their suffering significantly. Dauglas is one of the orphans we began caring for when he was a young boy. As many of you know he is now a fine young man, and oversees the Getionko congregation. His congregation has 18 orphans and 4 widows, and we struggle to help them with food, clothing, and other essentials.
This past week was a Huge challenge for Dauglas. On May 7, 2025 the orphans had gone without food for two days. (Our funds were depleted at the time.) We were finally able to send them some funds to purchase food, but as a hot meal was being prepared, two of the children who were scrambling to find something to eat, accidently fell on the fire and were burned. I received the following report back then from Dauglas:
“I am writing to inform you of a sad and urgent situation. This evening, I received a call informing me that two of our orphans had been burned while supper was being cooked. I immediately rushed to their home, and upon arrival, I found that they had indeed suffered burns from the fire. When I asked what had happened, they explained that the children were so hungry and scrambling over the food, which sadly led to the accident. Both children are currently receiving first aid.”
A few days later the hospital was ready to discharge them. But we didn’t have the funds to pay, so the police began searching for Dauglas to arrest him. Fortunately they didn’t catch him, because if they had caught him, we would have had to not only pay the hospital bill, but also the police would have charged a fee to release him. We would have also had another hospital bill to pay because whenever our brethren are arrested, they “always” get beat up in jail, and need to be hospitalized upon release to treat their wounds. Thanks to you donors, we finally had enough funds to pay the hospital, and they were discharged. Both orphans are now home and doing well.
Kenya is a rough place. In that country you are guilty until proven innocent. Even Bernard had to flee and hide from police for not paying the school fees for his two children on time. At first he was at one of our brethren’s homes. But one night at 1am in the morning the police came searching for him. He managed to climb out of a window in the rear of the house and fled into a nearby corn field. Our brethren live in constant fear of being arrested. Even Nehemiah, who oversees 22 orphans and 13widows in the Sengera Congregation is often in fear of being arrested. As mentioned in my last update, the stove in the Sengera House kitchen is in need of replacing, but we still don’t have the funds to do so. If the authorities find out that it hasn’t been replaced yet, he will be arrested and jailed. They have no mercy, and no regard for orphans. So brethren please continue to pray for our brethren’s safety. And please continue to tell others of their dire need.

The Getionko Congragation’s Orphans.
Happy Feast of Pentecost to all of you.
Thank You.
