Feast of Pentecost

And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. (Revelation 15:2)

Greetings Brethren,

Hope you all have a very Uplifting and Joyous Feast of Pentecost! Your Kenyan brethren send you their Highest Greeting. We look forward to the day when Pentecost will once again be fulfilled, and we will see each other face to face, up on that Sea of Glass, along with our Elder Brother and Heavenly Father. That day is coming Brethren.

We want to thank you for continuing to assist our impoverished brethren, especially our widows and the many orphans. And thank you for the additional funds some sent to get us back on our feet after paying all the school fees.

The work we are involved in is a good work. We are easing the suffering of many of our Brethren. Those good works of yours are glorifying our Heavenly Father. Please continue to pray for us to be good stewards. We need His Holy Spirit to lead us in everything we do. We also need those wonderful gifts of His to be given. (1 Corinthians 12:27-31)

I received some sobering news from Nehemiah this morning concerning his old High School. As many of you know Nehemiah often gives our Friday night Bible study at the orphanage. Then on Monday’s he would give it at his High School. He started just sharing the studies with a few of his friends, then a teacher listened in on one of the studies, and liked it alot. At the end of the study the teacher commented, and I quote: “Church of God KNOWS Bible better than anyone.”

Next the Principal listened in on a study, and immediately called an assembly and had Nehemiah give the study to the entire school. Nehemiah gave the study at school assembly a few times during his senior year. Then after he graduated, the teachers requested him to come and give more studies, and he did, and many were learning so much Truth for the first time.

And they knew it was Truth for two reasons. one,  because we (you donors) also gave them Bibles (and sometimes reading glasses) so they could read, and prove for themselves. And the second reason they knew Truth was being taught, was because persecution came knocking on our door. Last time Nehemiah spoke there it stirred up some trouble. And as you will see in his short letter below, the persecution has increased

(In case you don’t know Nehemiah, he’s now 18 years old, total orphan, and never knew his parents. He has been Sengera House for a long time, and like many of the orphans, you Donors have always been their Parents.)

Nehemiah’s note:

“Greetings!! I believe you are doing great in the lord God.

Today morning, I left our camp, Sengera, to Visit my former High School, mainly to share our Sabbath Teachings. The school principal rang an assembly bell and all the students gathered together for I was more than ready to share again some teachings with them.

The school is a Catholic school, and none of the principal nor teachers knew that the Monsignor Priest in charge of the school was coming.

Immediately the Priest arrived, he called the gathering to an end, I remember when I was a student there, I was about to be expelled from school by the priest but only God controlled my presence, until I graduated from there.

This time I ran away for my safety, while I left the principal being held responsible of welcoming Sabbath Teachings, which the priest called a wrong doctrine. The Priest was wearing some kind of a white robe that reached all the way to his feet.

Moms and Dads, brother and sisters please lift the principal in your prayers so that the Priest cannot accuse him. But I liked the principal only the priest was the problem and I pray he doesn’t accuse him to his committee members.

Thanks for being pillars of our well being, God bless you.

Nehemiah Sibwoga.”

Nehemiah’s heart is going out to that teacher, hoping he doesn’t lose his livelihood. Let us pray for God’s help, and let us pray for God to bless both of them for standing up for Truth, and for being persecuted. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you want to live Godly, you will suffer persecution.

(John 15:20)  (2 Timothy 3:12)

We will reach out to that teacher, and help him realize that his actions were quite commendable to our Lord; we will also inform him that we still have those 5 Bibles, so the others there who are thirsting for Truth (and there are some, some come in at the last hour) can have their very own Bible, and also stay connected.

Rongo Toilet

Rongo Congregation of around 25 brethren hasn’t had a toilet for a while. The old one collapsed like many due, even with the occupant inside. None have died from the fall, but a number of times children have gotten broken limbs when falling into the muck. Thanks to your continued help, we have built a number of new ones with strong concrete floors instead of wood.

David also interprets for me on occasion when visiting remote groups. And he (Like Nehemiah) is good at it, they know the message. Sometimes they interpret into Kisii tongue and sometimes Swahili. And sometimes, when someone stops and question something, trying to better understand what is being said, both boys have no problem elaborating in their vehicular. One time I sat down for a few minutes while David continued to answer many of the man’s questions all on his own.

Tombe Girls High School

Maureen attends this school; Haron visited her on class conference day and wanted to take picture with her. But he wasn’t able to take pictures. Haron reported the following: “The principal ordered all students to return to school compound from field. Problem was rich parents were carrying expensive food stuff to their children and was to be frustration to poor students. So he abruptly ended the function.”

Haron also reported the following: “Every church pastor is now required to represent himself before chief and sub county commissioner. If you have heard about a pastor in Kenya made people fast until death. The government is checking on all churches. I had John and Charles go there. They have told me the commissioner is going to make Sabbath visit so to hear from speakers what we are preaching.”

I better end for now because I want to get this update out so you will be aware of the teacher’s need for our prayers.

Also, let me say this concerning your continued donations, they are so very much appreciated. Some of you have been donation for a long time, and I don’t thank you often enough, but Please realize that the funds you are sending continue to ease the pain of many of our suffering brethren. No funds are wasted, and no funds stay dormant, as they come in they go out. And we still help according to priority. According to who is crying the loudest, and also favoring widows and orphans.

And nothing here extravagant, even for this Pentecost we can’t help all the brethren with physical food to eat at this Feast, (unless something more comes in today.)  But we are sharing some Spiritual food, with our Pentecost message to encourage themWe all need encouragement now, more than ever.

If you want a taste of what we are preaching, there is a link below to the Pentecost message.
