But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? (1 John 3:17)

Greetings Brethren,

Hope you are well, and not shaken in mind, or troubled, as we see the day of Christ approaching. With the Feast of Pentecost rapidly approaching, it got me thinking about how Paul had to correct the Thessalonians who incorrectly thought the “Day of Christ” had already come, and that they had missed it. Paul informed them that certain events had to take place before Christ would return. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-2)

Brethren, the events that Paul was speaking of; the “falling away” (defection from truth) and the “revealing of the man of sin” had to precede our Lord’s return. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4).

Let us not mistakenly think that those two events are still far off somewhere in the distant future, because the “falling away” is already history, and the man of sin, the son of perdition Is already being revealed to the church, and will soon be revealed to the world.

Brethren don’t believe those who teach that prophesy cannot be understood until it is hind-sight.  Our Lord clearly tells us that the Spirit of Truth will not only “guide” us into “all” truth, but will also show us things to come. (John 16:13).

King Charles lll was crowned May 6, 2023. For his coronation he changed the centuries-old accolade — “defender of the faith” to the “defender of faiths” plural.  Yes, he considers himself defender of all faiths, which includes the Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu, whose leaders not only attended the King’s inauguration, but also participated in it. King Charles, along with the other Big end time player (the Pope) has the same agenda: Unite the world religiously, and blame mankind’s problems on “climate change”.

Border group children.

Today Nehemiah visited the border; it was the first time he traveled back there after the recent unprecedented rains and flooding that has finally ended. He found them suffering. The widow (Chebet Gesare) who cares for them was sick in bed, too weak to even get up.

As Nehemiah was checking on her, the children quickly ran to gather (searched actually) for fire wood, as others fetched water to cook the rice and beans that Nehemiah brought. (They were hungry.)

But after hearing what Chebet’s symptoms were, I immediately suspected cholera. (That bacterial disease normally kills within 24 to 48 hours.) I knew she needed immediate help. But she was too weak to get up, let alone walk. So the kids carried her (with the help of a motorbike) to the nearby clinic. She was diagnosed with cholera, and is being treated.

Thanks to you donors, we were able to help her, and thanks to you donors the children were so happy, as they headed back home with smiles on their faces. Yes, smiling, not only because Chebet was being treated, but they also had left food cooking on the fire that would now be ready to eat. (They had been sleeping hungry for some time now.)

Brian Aboko Fetching water to cook the food.

The water you see above, is the same water all of our Kenyan brethren use. And they use it for everything from, cooking, bathing, drinking etc. Of course you have to boil it before drinking. But first you have to fetch it, and for some that can be a very long walk to the nearest water hole.

Nicodemus Cooking.

Nehemiah brought beans and rice. In the picture above, Nicodemus was cooking. He had a pot sitting upside down (as a lid) on top of the pot of food he was cooking. This shows me that he has plenty of cooking experience. And notice that he only has “kindling” to burn. (Nothing larger that would keep the fire burning longer.) Instead, the fire went out and they had to go searching for more wood. What I’m trying to say is that our impoverished brethren have a difficult life, and they’re no stranger to suffering. So please continue to help them, your support continues to ease our impoverished brethren’s suffering so much (especially the widows and orphans where we keep our focus.) You donors are the answer to their prayer. Many of our Kenya congregations consist of mostly children, and many are orphans, oftentimes fending for themselves.

Brethren there are a few of you who have been consistently helping these impoverished widows, orphans, and brethren of ours. We don’t thank you enough (and I apologize for that) but please realize that your support continues to make a Big impact on them. As funds come in, they go right back out. The need is great amongst our impoverished brethren. But the donors are so few. Even today’s trip to the border was quite successful, but Nehemiah wanted to bring them soap also, but we didn’t have enough funds to do so. Please continue to spread the word that there are impoverished brethren out there who are in need of our help, and many are just young children. Nehemiah also continues to bring them the old children’s Bible lessons from the old WWCOG, and they (both young and old) love them.

The children are standing in from of widow Chebet’s house.

As you can see, these brethren of ours are quite poor, and living in poverty. But quite rich in faith and quite thankful for the help you continue to give them. The Almighty Father will reward each and every one of you for helping them. But Scripture says “woe” to them who turn their backs on the cry of our poor “For they shall cry themselves, but not be heard”. (Psalm 41:1-2) (Proverbs 21:13)

Papa (Isaac) Faith, Lucy and Catherine.

These four live at Sengera House and are not in boarding school. Thanks’ to you donors, Papa is in local High School, and the three girls are in local Elementary School. All the other Sengrra House children (again thanks to you donors) are currently away at Boarding School. They will soon have a mid-term break, and return home for approximately one week.

Manley continues to do well in University. He starts his cock-pit training soon, and will have a job flying for Kenya Airlines upon graduation. He still meets every Sabbath at his house with some of his Sabbath Keeping classmates for Bible studying. Most of his classmates are Seventh Day Adventist (SDA’s) And they are intrigued at what they are learning, concerning Holy Day’s and so much more.

Nehemiah repairing some plumbing at Sengera House.

Growing up at Sengera House , Nehemiah has had hands-on experience in many trades that we have taught the children. Here he is fixing some broken pipes and leaking faucets.

Oh, I just now received the following text from Nehemiah: “Shalom Donor’s!

To the Donors of the widows, widowers, and orphans, first and foremost, I, the widows and widowers, and children under their care, we are thankful for the good work you are doing to them. I’m writing on their behalf. They always kneel to pray for you to have good health, and the Lord to open doors for you as you continue providing for them.

I’m often getting calls from these widows and widowers requesting for food because the food support has not been continuous. It comes for a while. And due to the high cost of living food is becoming very expensive. And many of our brethren do without meals. I witnessed a case where some take hot water mixed with sugar and tea leaves as their dinner. Due to the starvation some go to the clinic and its being found that it’s because of starving.

Some widows and widowers are living with their grandchildren whose parents died of many different types of disease. They are depending on aged, poor and weak grandparents, Because of the high cost of living.

Even the brethren during the services to our groups today in Sengera, Rigo, Rongo and the border it’s very hard for them to get lunch. There was no food for them this Sabbath.

Your donations are helping so much, but the problem is the need is many.

It’s my prayer that you keep them and us in your prayers.

        Nehemiah Sibwoga.”

If only a few others knew of the need, they would help. So let us continue to pray the Lord for more laborers.

Let me end for now and get this update posted. We wish all of you a Spiritual and Uplifting Feast of Pentecost.

Thank You.

Bill Goff.
