Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:9-10 NIV
Greetings Brethren,
Hope all of you are well as we patiently await the return of our Lord and Savior. The way this world is spiraling out of control, it can’t be too much longer. It’s just a matter of the rest of us in God’s church making ourselves “ready” or “prepared” for His return. Revelation 19:6-9
Let us also not forget Peter’s admonition to us concerning our Lord’s return found in: 2 Peter 3:9-14
Yes, He wants to find us “without spot” and “blameless”. And we have the “Power” to accomplish that, we have His Holy Spirit. The same power that our Lord and Savior used to overcome the evil ways of this world. Oh, some say yes, but He had the spirit without measure. But the Scripture also says “IF” we want more of His a Powerful Holy Spirit, all we have to do is ask!
We want to thank you for your continued support of our impoverished brethren. Your assistance continues to impacted them significantly in easing their suffering, and it is very much appreciated.
As you probably know we assist according to priority, and our widows and orphans are on the top of the list. We are still caring for 50 church orphans and 13 widows. None have died of starvation for quite a number of Months now, although death from starvation is quite common in the villages all around our congregations in Kenya.
We have been assisting the remote widows and orphans with food, but usually only in 3 to 4 day intervals. Our funds have not been strong enough to assist for longer periods of time. And currently our funds are once again depleted.
We are happy to report that all the children residing at Sengera House are now back in school bar one. As you know Manley has graduated High School. He has been accepted by the Kenya Government to have his University funded by them, and will be attending Mount Kenya University beginning in April. We are hoping that maybe someone would like to sponsor him during his University. The Kenya Government plans to pay his tuition, but there will no doubt-probably be other cost that may not be covered by the Government.
We have also assisted Benjamin Bett’s 3 boys with a bed. They have been sleeping on the floor of their kitchen, and quite susceptible to contracting pneumonia due to the damp and cold night conditions. They are so grateful to now be sleeping in a bed for the first time in their lives.
The Bett boys have been sleeping on the floor of their kitchen.
The Bett boys are now sleeping in a bed for the first time.
That’s Mom Brenda Bett tending the fire after cooking supper. They are all so appreciative to you donors for assisting them.
As mentioned in previous updates, the boys have become well trained in painting.
. Nehemiah’s sharpening business is off and running.
As many of you know, our goal is to teach these children some type of trade so they can become self supportive after they finish school. We already have numerous success stories that have been documented in previous updates. All of this was possible thanks to you donors. Without your support they would not have been able to succeed like they have.
We also ask for your continued prayers for our Heavenly Father’s guidance in “every” move that we make, and “every” step that we take. Without the lead of His Holy Spirit, we can accomplish nothing. It is His Spirit that has to be leading us. And that takes knee time, and learning humility. Your financial support is quite necessary, but your prayers are of utmost importance. And walking the walk, not just talking the talk is what gets the job done. As we are told in Romans 8:28 “all things (not some things, not most or many things) but “all” things work together for good to those who love God”. And loving God is a matter of keeping His commandments and all of His wonderful ways.
Please continue to pray for us, for our safety. We have many adversaries, as we are constantly persecuted. And pray especially for Haron, he is under the pressure of being arrested even now as I’m composing this update. For what? For assisting these orphans with a safe place to live, and a godly environment. As the Scripture says: “all who live godly shall suffer persecution”. 2 Timothy 3:12
Your brother in Christ.
