KHOFH

Update October 17, 2026.

Greetings Brethren,

Nehemiah has been arrested again. The school year is just ending, and as we settle up with funds required by the school, we were a little short. So they arrested Nehemiah. He informed me that they will free him if we pay part of the $650. owed. ($400 now) then they’ll give us time to pay the balance.

The funds due are legitimate, a hospital bill for one of the orphans while in boarding school, and also for some damage in the lab. A few test tubes were accidentally broken.

If Nehemiah sleeps in jail tonight, he will be in the hospital tomorrow, because in Kenya jails, you get beat up.

This will be Nehemiah’s, I think fourth or fifth time arrested, jailed, beat up and hospitalized after release. His crime? Helping widows and Orphans.

I wish I knew a way to spread this around. Our impoverished brethren continue to need our help. The work we are involved in is a good work. We’re helping these widows and these orphans; it’s the right thing to do. Please continue helping if you can.

Nehemiah is a wonderful God-fearing young man. His whole life has been serving widows and orphans. A true deacon (servant) in the House of the Living God. (1 Timothy 3:8-10) (2 Timothy 3:12).

Thankfully someone sent in the $400. and Nehemiah was released around midnight last night, with no physical injuries. We thank God for that. Today the authorities called a few time looking for the balance to be paid. The total balance currently owed is $345. If its not paid soon, Nehemiah will be arrested once again, and back in jail.

This will end the school year, and no additional school funds will be required for next year according to an agreement we have with the authorities.

On another note, Bernard Onduso of the Sengera congregation, his wife, his children and the orphans they care for are suffering severely. I just received this letter from Bernard: “I paid $156. that I owed the hospital who treated my son for pneumonia, but I have a balance of $12.

I reached at the place am staying (Remember their mud house was washed away just over a Month ago) I reached the place am staying with my family but unfortunately they are really starving due to hunger. They have stayed three days without eating anything just hot water. Even my younger child he’s feeling unwell but I think it’s because of hunger. Let us continue praying God to provide for us, and we continue seeking His kingdom, and His righteousness. Bernard.”

As I’ve mentioned previously, conditions amongst these impoverished brethren of ours is the worse I’ve seen since my first feet on the ground in Kenya back in 2005. We are struggling to help them, especially with food.

Now concerning Dauglas, and the widow Nyaboke Daniel, who died of starvation, who attended the Getionko congregation. She is still in the morgue. Dauglas has been informed today by the authorities, that if the funds are not paid by tomorrow, he will be arrested. Currently her bill, including transport her body back to her home for burial is $1,200.

Now concerning Elder John Magara, the “Gofundme” raised enough funds to pay his hospital bill. But the funds have not cleared yet, so John is still in the hospital, sleeping on the floor. We have been doing our best to help John, his wife, his children and the eight orphans they care for with some food.

Please continue to help if you can. 100% of the donations reach our impoverished brethren. We are told in (Galatians 6:10) “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” These African brethren of ours are of the “Household old of Faith.”

I know I’m looking for a lot of funds here, but, if we pray, and if we help financially with what we can, it will be enough. These are our brethren, and they are the poor of this world, rich in faith, but suffering, and in need of our help.
