Kenya Update

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore”.  (Psalm 133:1-3)

Greetings Brethren,

We have been working together for a long time, and much good fruit continues to be produced. Yes, good works that continue to glorify our Heavenly Father.

As you know, we have been teaching our orphans how to fish for themselves, trying to have them become self supportive after they finish their schooling.

In the July 16, 2022 Update we reported on how the orphan Wako (Brian) was not doing well in school academically, so we pulled him out of School and taught him the carpentry trade. Today he not only has his own furniture making business established, but also has been training orphan Patrick the trade. Now Wako is teaching Clinton (another one of our orphans) the trade, and he is also (like Patrick) learning quite well.

All this is being accomplished because we are all working together, under the direction of our Lord and Savior. He has bestowed in our hearts the importance of helping others, especially the need of helping our widows and orphans. What a wonderful thing, to have Love one to another.

Once Patrick and Clinton become well trained, we hope to help them open up their own carpentry shop in the Village of Sengera.

Below are some pictures of where the wood comes from to make the furniture. First they buy a tree, and then pay to have it cut down and cut into dimensional lumber. (All cutting is made with a chainsaw.)

Schools in Kenya have been closed for over one week due to the anticipation of Presidential election riots. A new President has now been elected, and thankfully the riots were minimal. So Schools are now reopening, and our orphans are in the process of returning.

We have also been doing our best continuing to supply the remote widows and orphans with the ingredients to make their much needed nutritional porridge. And the need is still great, so please don’t get “weary in the well doing”.  Your assistance continues to help them significantly. The porridge you are supplying is keeping them alive. And let us keep praying for more brethren to become aware of the situation and join hands with us in helping them, because the need is great.

Also, as you know the Fall Feasts are rapidly approaching. One of our donors (a sister in the faith) has sent in a special offering earmarked for the FOT. Without our help, the majority of our impoverished brethren will be unable to congregate for this year’s Feast. You can read about the 2022 Kenya FOT by clicking on the Feast link at the bottom of this update.

I also want to thank you for your prayers, they are so Vitally Important. Especially with all the dangers that face us as believers, and followers of our Lord. And there is also added dangers in some of these tropical countries like Kenya, I received a report this week that one of our young girls (Margaret 15 yrs old) was bitten by a poisons snake. When I asked where this happen? I wasn’t surprised to hear that she was bitten while in her bed. It’s not the first time these “serpents” have entered into our house, but thankfully she is okay, thanks to your constant prayers.

Below are pictures of some of the remote orphans you have been assisting. They thank you from the bottom of their heart. In Kenya orphans are looked upon as worthless. But in our eyes they are precious.

In all we are caring for 31 remote orphans, and 19 orphans living at Sengera House (50 orphans in all) and 11 “true” widows. I’ll try to get pictures of the other remote orphans, and post them in the next Update.

Thanks to you donors, the lives of these orphans have improved dramatically. They were suffering so much in the past, quite destitute. But they were full of faith, and never stopped praying to God for help. And He answered their prayers through all of you, thanks to your compassion and Love.
