Kenya Updates

Kenya Update December 23, 2023

Greetings Brethren,

Hope all of you are well, both physically and more importantly Spiritually, as we (the church) approache the “day of Christ” that is spoken of in (2 Thessalonians 2:1-2). Back then “that day” was not at hand. But Brethren, we are living at the time when the “day of Christ” is at hand. The coming of that day hinges only on two things: the “Apostasy” & the “Revealing of the man of sin”. Both of which are now at “hand” Strong’s G1764 impending. More on that later. But Brethren let us realize, that we are not living at the time when our lord began to build His church, we are living at the time when He is about to complete His church, In real-estate terminology when the building of a house is complete, and ready to be occupied, its called “turn key” condition. That’s where we need to be today Brethren, ready complete.

I’m currently in Nairobi, preparing to fly back to the USA on Sunday December 24th. Have been quite busy traveling around Kenya visiting the orphanage, and visiting many remote church groups. I haven’t had my feet on the ground in Kenya for almost 9 Months. So it was good to get back there and see the conditions of our impoverished brethren who continue to suffer. (mostly from starvation.) So there is much to report on.

Your Kenyan Brethren send all of you their Highest Greetings. Faith and Zeal are flourishing in the remote churches there. Our Kenyan/Tanzanian  Brethren are quite impoverished, but they are full of zeal, waiting on our Lord’s return, a time when their suffering will finally end.

.After arriving here in September, my first stop was at the orphanage in Sengera. What a pleasure it was to see the orphans and widows again. Your orphan children (who many of you have been assisting for a long time)  continue to grow both physically and Spiritually.

Breakfast consisting of hard boiled eggs, sliced bread, and tea.

I’m also quite happy to report that Nehemiah  was baptized. But even with all the rain and unprecedented flooding, we had to trek quite a ways on foot to find water deep enough to submerge.

      Baptism (Strong’s # G907) To Submerge

Nehemiah was so excited to be baptized.

After arriving Sengera House, the first group I visited was the Kenyana congregation. We started that church 12 years ago with 25 members. Now they have grown to just over 300.

Inside fills to capacity, and overflow is outside.

Our Heavenly Father has “Not” finished calling others to His Great Wedding Banquet.  This fact should sober us, considering the reason “why” He continues to “Call” others. Scripture tells us, that some still to this day, continue to ask to be excused. Too many don’t seem to realize the value of our High Calling, and venture back into the very ugly, hideous, perverted, untoward world they came out of. (Luke 14:19-24). Some love this present evil world and its unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12) God help them to wake up and recognize the signs of the times in which we are now living.

Yes, these can be very dangerous times for the members of God’s church. Christ puts being “ready” for His Return, high on the priority list for His First Fruits, His soon to be crowned Priests. The question is: “Are we ready” ?

(2Timothy 4:8) tells us that the Crowns will go to those who will love His appearing, when the “Midnight Cry” of (Matthew 25:6) soon sounds. Will we be among those who  “Love His Appearing” ? Or will we be be found wanting at that time, due to lack of preparation, a lack of filling our vessels with the precious “oil” that we need to still be continually filling up on. And remember that oil represents “Truth”. You can’t buy God’s Holy Spirit, but we are commanded to buy “Truth. (There is a short study on that important subject titled: “Parable of the Ten Virgins”.  The link is below.)

Let me move on now with this update:

As some of you Know,  we enrolled Manley in University beginning of this year.  He has now competed his first year of a four year program to become an airline pilot. Manley has worked hard at his studies, and scored high (even qualifying for a gift from the school for his good performance, a desk with reading light.)

But the first year was a Hugh challenge for Manley, and it was also a challenge for us, his donors. There are four church families who agreed to sponsor Manley, which they have been doing. At first we (the  four donors, and khofh) were quite skeptical about the additional costs that we weren’t aware of that the university was demanding, and we were contemplating whether to pull Manley out of school due to the additional funds required. But we needed a little more time to see the fruits,  if there were good fruits being produced or bad ones, in order to know God’s will for him. Turns out his first year ended well. Manley is well liked by all of his teachers. He’s still the humble boy who arrived Sengera House along with his sister Jemima many years ago.

Manley has acquired a drivers license and has been driving on occasion for the school and earning additional spending money. But as I mentioned, his first year was rather difficult due to a little insufficient funding. Khofh did our best to assist him financially for food and additional needs, but as I often mention, we (khofh) distribute funds according to priority, and we have continued to struggle to keep our fifty orphans and a number of church widows from starving to death. (Starvation is a real and constant problem amongst our brethren in Kenya.) Well like our other orphans and widows, Manley also went hungry quite often because of low funds, and it affected him physically. One day he accidentally fell down a flight of stairs and fractured two ribs…. Then shortly after that, he came down with pneumonia. On his return home from being X-rayed and treated, he was so weak that he fell off the motorbike taxi and ended up back at the hospital quite scrapped up.

Manley treated for cuts and scrapes after falling off motorbike taxi.

He is recuperating well from his injuries (including his two fractured ribs.) I was able to visit with him yesterday 12-21-2023 in Nairobi.

Manley told me the school has assured him of being hired by Kenya Airlines upon graduation. Even now, the busy airport in Nairobi  (along with two other airports in Kenya) is expanding, and in need of additional pilots. There are other brethren in the cog who are airline pilot. So I believe that it is God’s will for him to succeed in this field.

And let us realize that the “Great Tribulation” of Matthew 24:21 is approaching. And don’t be deceived by the false teachings that the church will be whisked off and hidden in some secluded place during the troublesome times ahead. Oh, it is true and quite Scriptural that some will be protected during the  coming Tribulation, but they will be protected where they are, not at some central location. There is a big work ahead for the church, we too will be assisting the coming two witnesses. (Scriptures are there confirming that as noted in other articles, with links listed below.) (Revelation 11:4) describes the “witnesses” as two olive trees, and two candlesticks. Trees in the Bible often represent men, and candlesticks always represent the church.

Remember God changes not, and Scripture says many will repent and come out of the coming Great Tribulation. After repentance, comes baptism. one “cannot” enter the Kingdom without first being baptized.

(John 3:5)  (Mark 16:15-16) Two men cannot baptize the many who will repent, and come out of the Tribulation, that will be the job of the church (amongst other tasks) Remember we are also called His witnesses. That’s one reason the church is scattered today. (The article that addresses that subject is titled: “I will give power unto my two witnesses”. Link is below.)

Now concerning Nehemiah’ Daily Bread” he continues to move forward, and it’s still producing good fruit. The children just love the studies very much. Since our last update, only one was accomplished at Sengera House on 12-8-2023. We have been so busy here in doing our best to assist our impoverished brethren, and of course focused on the many orphans and widows, that Nehemiah also came down with pneumonia (quite common here in this damp and cold environment.) He was originally hospitalized over night, but never had time to rest and allow his lungs to heal. (His phone rings often with dire requests from our suffering brethren) the pneumonia reappeared in both lungs, and he was treated a total of three times. He is now doing okay, I forced him to rest. Please continue to pray for us, and for protection. Kenya can be a very dangerous place.

We have continued to assist the 50 orphans and 12 widows. And times continue to be tough here, with so much need and suffering. We have  4 different widows who have property where they normally grow crops. But during the beginning of the last planting season, we didn’t have funds to help them to purchase Seeds and Fertilizer. So only a few have gardens growing at this time. Your donated funds are helping so much, but there are many of our brethren still suffering here. If only other members of a God’s church were made aware of the suffering, they would join hands with us and help. One thing is for sure, with the “Literal” Millions of Dollars coming into the various “churches” of God, no one in God’s church should be starving! The Cry of our starving Brethren needs to be sounded Loud and Clear, and not quenched! And don’t think this need is unique to our E. Africa brethren, our Lord has His poor and Faithful brethren scattered all around this Globe, and I’m sure many others are in need of help. (Galatians 6:10)

In (James 1:27)we are instructed to help or widows and orphans in their afflictions”. In these 3rd world countries, they have many affections. And your donation are addressing them. As funds come in, they go right back out to help the ones in need. Like replacing old worn out mattresses, and other needed bedding. Mosquito nets need to be replaced from time to time also. (malaria is common here.) But the biggest need right now continues to be food. We are struggling to meet the need of food for our widows, and the many orphans. Some are still going a day or two without eating. Please don’t get weary in your well doing. And please try to inform others of the suffering here. The need is great, but the workers continue to be few.

(Galatians 6:9) (Matthew 9:37-38) (Luke 10:2)

Also schools will reopen after the first week in January, and school fees will be due. I tried to start a separate fundraiser for that purpose, but “go fund me” won’t allow me to open it from Africa due to so many cons here.

I need to end for now and get this update posed.

Thank you for your continued support of the widows, orphans, and impoverished brethren. May our Almighty Father bless you abundantly.

Bill Goff
